Happy Friday, y'all! I'm so glad to be back writing on Mad's Muses (more to come about that next week) and I'm even happier that you all are still sticking around to read. During my hiatus I took time to wind down and think and develop new routines. One of our newest pastimes since the weather has been so nice recently is to take evening strolls. It may not sound like much, but it's the perfect wind-down activity. Not to mention, Augusta is a huge fan. ;)
Our neighborhood is so walkable; there are tons of places to go and things to see. We live about a block from the Ohio River so we've taken to walking across the bridges and meandering through Cincinnati's riverfront parks. Our favorite bridge to walk on is super popular with tourists and locals alike. It's aptly named the Purple People Bridge. It's a purple bridge that used to be open to car traffic but is now just a walking bridge that connects Newport on the Levee with downtown Cincinnati.
Getting out into the fresh air can make such a difference in my day and mood. I sit at a desk just about all day at work, so being able to walk and be out with my pup, Michael, and some new scenery is so refreshing. It truly makes me feel better and have way more energy! It doesn't hurt that my pup is even more of a fan of these walks than I am. ;) She knows the routine and is ready to walk as soon as we're home from work. She definitely keeps us motivated to get out there!
I think it's safe to say we have a new favorite weeknight hobby! Do you have a favorite weeknight routine?
