In the past, I was never one to stand up to people. It's not necessarily that I think I'm wrong or didn't want to stand up for what was right; I'm simply a reserved person. However, with all the hooplah going on in our society today taking a stand should be a priority. It has become a personal goal of mine to start standing up for myself - and for things I believe in.
Recently I've bought several great items and I love them so much that I knew I had to share them with you guys. I also recently re-fell-in-love with Asos and bought a ton of items from them. Sprucing up my apartment has been a pretty big priority too, of late. I want it to feel like home instead of just another apartment and it's safe to say it's on its way. :) Aaaand my newfound skincare routine & products are the bomb. Whew. This post includes a lot... deep breaths. Happy shopping!
Cooking for one or two people can be hard and somewhat expensive. Recipes seem like they're meant for a family of four and prepackaged items are in the same boat, and when you're on your own you tend to waste a lot of food. At least that's what happens to me. I'm constantly on the lookout for meals that are easily made for small portions or make excellent leftovers, and the good news is that this one is perfect for both.
You're in your mid-twenties. You move apartments every year. Your job isn't necessarily something you see yourself doing long-term. Life is pretty up in the air, an awkward in-between. Hello, quarter life crisis.
It's International Women's Day and I have some pretty badass women in my life to celebrate. This year's theme is Be Bold for Change so when I read this I knew I had to put my voice out there, not only to celebrate the women I know, but to bring attention to those who may not have someone to celebrate them. International Women's Day calls for "a more gender inclusive world." As a feminist, I desire this, too. Women and girls have so, so much value, and today we recognize that. However, it doesn't have to stop today.
You all know that I am absolutely smitten with my pup, Augusta, so it was only been a matter of time before she made her official debut on the blog. She's been in my life for almost two years now, although I'm not quite sure how I lived twenty-two whole years without her; I feel like she's been with me forever. As crazy as it sounds, I believe she was meant to find me. We just jive.
Lipstick is one makeup staple that I rarely leave out of my rotation. My current makeup routine is pretty basic, starting with primer, then moving on to foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, highlighter, brows, and mascara - in that order. ;) It may sound like a lot to some, but it's pretty simple. Basically my routine is a natural “no makeup” makeup look, evening out my skintone and highlighting features like eyes, brows, and cheekbones. Using lipstick makes my routine a little less basic and more exciting; plus it allows me to be able to change up my natural look depending on the lipstick I use.
