I love curling up on the couch with a good book, especially now that my Christmas tree is up, making the living room even cozier. My to-read book list is an extravagant thing. I'll probably never get to all of the works that are on said list; it just keeps growing! Right now I keep a short list and my regular list. The regular list is the compilation of all of the books that are on my radar. My short list contains the books that are must reads in the very near future and are the ones I'm sharing today!
The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman // This book-turned-movie is so high on my list that I carry it with me everywhere I go along with the book that I'm currently reading so that I can immediately start it when I finish my current read. I want to see the movie so bad but I have a pact with myself to never see a movie or TV series without reading the book first (if they are based on a book or series of novels). It's a historical novel so it definitely piques my interest, and is based on a couple who finds a baby on the beach after World War I and raise the child as their own.
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult // As an avid reader of law and mystery, of course I'm a lifelong fan of Jodi Picoult. Her newest novel is definitely on my list of to-reads. Steeped with the harsh truths of race in America, Picoult outlines the causes and effects of the reality of privilege. I can't wait to get my hands on this one!
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr // This novel is set in World War II German-occupied Paris and focuses on two very different children who are affected by the war in two equally different ways until their paths cross. I'm always looking for historical fiction, and this book fits the bill to a T.
What's on your current to-read list? And what are your favorite books that I should add to my list?
