Happy Monday, y'all! Things have been pretty busy over my way with school, my new teaching job (eek!), moving, and some fun stuff with friends squeezed in, too. With the busy-ness that I typically detest, I've realized that I'm reaching for the same several items when heading out of the house, and a good, solid bag that I can simply grab and go has been one of those reachable things.
I've never been one to consider myself a guru at anything beauty related. I only started wearing foundation my during my last year of college and dipped my toes into the area of skincare this year (a little bizarre, right?!). I've also never really been that fond of makeup - I'd rather go without it than with any day of the week. It just wasn't too high on my priority list and I'd stuck with my same makeup routine for years. Only recently have I been able to discover a routine that actually works. And y'all, I'm excited about it!
It's the weekend that welcomes in summer with open arms! I am super excited about the upcoming summer season (and the changes it's bringing with it!) and I'm just as excited for the upcoming sales for Memorial Day Weekend. From Gap to J. Crew to Roolee Boutique, there are so many good sales going on that I just had to share them with y'all. ;)
Before I got into blogging, I had a handful of bloggers that I followed pretty religiously. Now that I'm more "in" the blogging sphere, I follow a wide range of bloggers and creatives to gather inspiration and to connect. And while I follow a wider variety of creatives, I still follow my favorites very closely - they are my favorites after all! I follow specific bloggers for specific reasons; sometimes it's their style, their travels, their inspirational posts, or for the fact that I really enjoy their writing style or personality. So if you're looking for some places to gather inspiration these are some great blogs to check out.
Happy Friday, y'all! I'm so glad to be back writing on Mad's Muses (more to come about that next week) and I'm even happier that you all are still sticking around to read. During my hiatus I took time to wind down and think and develop new routines. One of our newest pastimes since the weather has been so nice recently is to take evening strolls. It may not sound like much, but it's the perfect wind-down activity. Not to mention, Augusta is a huge fan. ;)
Those of you who know me well know that I love to eat. I've never been one to be able to diet - I lack the needed discipline, oops! - or even cut back on foods that I love. When I get a craving for something, I eat it. I'm a self proclaimed foodie who'll eat anything. Recently, I forewent this thinking and ditched meat for eight days. Here's what happened.
In recent years, Disney has reopened its vault of classic movies but releases them with a twist - with life-action films instead of cartoons. In the beginning I was skeptical about all of the remakes, but most of them have been true to the original story lines, but normally go into much more detail about the characters.
